Relevant Work Experience:

03-2009 Ongoing. Puppet Theatre Barge, Puppeteer, operating Marionettes and shadow puppets in ‘A Childs Garden of Verse’, ‘Spirit’,  ‘Out of the Heart of Darkness’ and ‘Aesops Fables’.

04-2009 to 05-2009. New Dot Media, Shadow Puppet maker and operator for a short film exhibited at Wat Tyler Country Park.

08-2008 to 11-2008. In – Toto Theatre, Project Management Assistant, Design Assistant, Puppet Maker and Puppeteer for a Community Float commissioned for the Lord Mayors Parade.

04-2008 to 06-2008. Ribcaged and Blue Penguin Productions. Puppet Maker for the production ‘The Bear Who Paints’ which premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2008. Click here to see the bear.

04-2008. Culture 24, Brighton. Freelance ‘Make and Do’ Artist. Involved creating a ‘Step by Step’ guide for children on ‘How to make a Glove Puppet’, appearing on the online 24 Hour Museum.

02-2008. Punchdrunk Theatre, Installation Artist and Set Dresser.  Involved creating a secret room in ‘The Mask of the Red Death’ at the Battersea Arts Centre.

02-2008. Shunt. Artist and creator of ‘The Attic’, an interactive and mechanical installation exhibited at the Shunt Arts Venue, London.

11-2007. Oily Cart. Production and Design Assistant. Involved making and repairing parts of the sets, props, costumes and puppets for the children’s show ‘If all the world were made of paper’.

01-2007 Ongoing. Tucked In Productions. Puppeteer, Puppet Maker and Set and Prop Designer for ‘Jackajack’ a dark fairytale for children, which premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2007 and is still touring.

06-2006. ProtoPlaY Arts Collective. Artist in residence in a Performance Exhibition  ‘Deconstruction/Reconstruction’ at The Brighton Fringe Basement. A week long, sight-specific exhibition sponsored by Brighton Fringe Productions and The Arts Council.

Interests

I play the violin and have been in several orchestras but mainly enjoy playing folk, gypsy and klezma music. I am a keen photographer and have an interesting collection of photographs from many sources. Films and animations, especially those by Jan Svankmajer and The Brothers Quay, inspire my creative work.
